As a Sales Account Manager I had the responsibility of working towards sales targets and overall business goals. I pro-actively identified and targeted companies in the local area in order to secure new business opportunities for BT. I maintained strong working relationships with business owners in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset by providing them with outstanding customer service and reliability whilst managing their BT accounts effectively.
I pro-actively attended to customer needs, maintained stock levels, operated the tills, completed fitting room duties, general cleaning tasks, attended and contributed to sales meetings, promoted and processed store card applications and completed visual merchandise displays. During my time in this role I was able to adapt to different working styles, gain some invaluable professional experience, perfect my communication skills and develop more knowledge within the retail and sales industry.
I completed a course called 'Introduction to Enterprise' which is for budding entrepreneurs looking to start up a business.
My first experience in a lab made me aware of the health and safety procedures that have to be followed as well as how to operate some specialist laboratory equipment. My research project consisted of analysing different fibre types and producing a catalogue of SEM images. By the end of my project I was able to identify different fibre types from their SEM images, operate an SEM confidently, communicate effectively with the staff and students and prepare microscopic samples.
